Q1. What is man?
A. The Lord God created man from the dust of the earth.
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Gen. 2:7) (NIV)
Q2. What are the essential components of man according to the Scripture?
A. Spirit, soul and body are the essential components of man.
“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thes. 5:23) (NIV)
Q3. How many people did God create, who originally started mankind?
A. One man, who is Adam.
“The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Gen. 2:18) (NIV)
Q4. When God created a helper to the man, did God take dust to form another person?
A. No, instead he formed the other from the man’s rib.
“21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.” (Gen. 2:21-22) (NIV)
Notice that, God created the first man Adam as an adult, therefore, a mother did not bore him nor did it happen through infancy. Also, the woman, not only did God take it directly from the dust, but on the male’s rib.
Q5. How then did God create the following people who spread throughout the earth?
A. By marriage: between a man and a woman: child birth
“God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it…” (Gen. 1:28) (NIV)
Notice that, there are three forms of creation that the verses reveal. First, straight from the dust. Secondly from man's rib. And the third way is by man and woman.
Q6. Was God accompanied by anyone when he created man?
A. Yes, he was accompanied by someone with his likeness.
“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness,…” (Gen. 1:26) (NIV)
Q7. Did God form man above all creations That he created on earth?
A. God did make man special.
(a) Humans are not created by mere words like other creatures on earth.
(b) Man is created in the image and likeness of God.
(c) God directly gave the breath of life to man.
(d) A paradise was made, a garden in Eden, where God put man. (Gen. 2:8)
(e) There is a tree in Eden that gives ever-lasting life. (v.9)
Q8. What is God's purpose in his creation of man?
A. Worship and obey the orders of the creator.
“ Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;” (Psa. 95:6) (NIV)
“ Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.” (Eccle. 12:13) (NIV)
Q9. What was the first commandment given by God to his creation?
A. Do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
“16 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Gen. 2:16-17) (NIV)
Q10. Did man obey the first commandment of God?
A. Man did not obey it.
“To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life.” (Gen. 3:17) (NIV)
Q11.What has resulted in mankind's disobedience to the command of God?
A. Sin entered the world that caused death.
“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—” (Rom. 5:12) (NIV)
Q12.What was the consequence of the sin made by the first man?
A. Death that is buried in the grave.
“…“When I die, bury me in the grave where the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones.” (1 Kings 13:31) (NIV)
Q13. Has man been created by God in his present state of sin?
A. No, but God made him righteous.
“This only have I found: God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes.” (Eccle. 7:29) (NIV)
Q14. IS IT PLEASING TO GOD that the obedience of man is based on merely human rules?
A. God was not pleased.
“8 “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’” (Mat. 15:8-9) (NIV)
Q15. If death that is buried in the cemetery is a result of Adam's sin that the human race had, what would result from a person's personal sin to God?
A. “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. “(Rev. 21:8) (NIV)
Q16. How can man be unchained from sin’s bondage, to gain the eternal life God had previously prepared in Eden?
A. Hear the word of the Lord Jesus and believe in who sent Him.
““Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” (Jn. 5:24) (NIV)
