The Devil

Q1. Who is the devil?

A. He is Satan who is deceiving the whole world.

“9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” (Rev. 12:9) (NIV)

Q2. Did God create him to be a devil?

A. No, Satan turned himself into a devil.

“14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.” (Ezek. 28:14-15) (NIV)

The scripture testifies that it is not God who made the devil who was once a cherub. He made himself a 'devil' when God Almighty found him ‘unrighteous’.

Q3. What is the unrighteousness found in the cherub which ruined his wisdom and perfection?

A. Envy, because he wants to obtain the same power of God.

“12 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God;I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” (Isa.14:12-14) (NIV)

His ambition to be like the God Almighty has led the morning star who was a cherub into unrighteousness. This ambition is contrary to God. This same spirit dwells in the son of lawlessness. This is the Apostle Paul's statement in his inspired letter to the Thessalonians.

His letter:

“3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” (2 Thes. 2:3-4) (NIV)

The temple of God on earth is not made of human hands, because Paul also said in Acts 17:24, “…God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.” (NIV)

Which temple on earth is not made with hands? The people who make up the Church, also written by Paul, say,

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” (1 Cor. 3:16) (NIV)

Therefore, the person who is possessed by the spirit of the devil is a religious leader:

“9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.” (2 Thes. 2:9-10) (NIV)

Q4. On earth, who does the devil intend to harm right from the beginning?

A. The devil intends to harm the people.

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (Jn. 8:44) (NIV)

Notice that, so death in the human race is due to the perversion and lie of the serpent in Eden. It is also his deceptive way to turn people away from God until the world ends.

Q5. In these last days, how can he cause harm when he is a spirit of darkness that no human eyes can see?

A. He pretends to be an angel of light.

“And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” (2 Cor. 11:14) (NIV)

Satan thus, pretend to be an angel or messenger of enlightenment to attract many people to follow him as a leader of a religion. In this wise step of Satan he will gain lots of disciples, because he will reverse the truth and create a wide open door where people will be led to destruction, with which many will enter. (Mat. 7:13)

Q6. Does he have a group of people that will accomplish his purpose to mislead the people, and can he lead them to his unrighteous system in the name of religion?

A. Yes, group of ministers who teaches a perverted gospel.

“It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” (2 Cor. 11:15) (NIV)

Q7. Does he also have people that will imitate to be false apostles?

A. Yes, and they are deceitful.

“For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.” (2 Cor. 11:13) (NIV)

“For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings.” (1 Cor. 4:9) (NIV)

So if there is a sect rising with apostles, those apostles are all false, because no other apostle will appear after the true apostles of Christ.\

Q8. How long will the devil remain deceitful to the people?

A. Until he is released a little after the thousand-year reign of Christ and his saints on this earth.

“2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.” (Rev. 20:2-3) (NIV)

“and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.” (Rev. 20:8) (NIV)

Q9. Will the devil be successful in cheating the mortal sinners who lived in the last thousand years of the world?

A. He would be successful according to the Scriptures.

“They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.” (Rev. 20:9) (NIV)

According to the statement, despite the imprisonment of a thousand years, the rebel cherub has not changed. Cheating is still in his mind. And again, he deceived all the nations in the four corners of the earth. It didn’t take him long that his followers obeyed his command to attack and subdue the camp and holy places where the throne of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is, which belongs to the Lord Jesus. But this last attempt by the devil, even though with the whole world behind him, will only come to disappointment. The fire went down to heaven and they were devoured.

The world has waited a thousand years to acknowledge their God and savior from the devil. (2 Cor. 4:4) They do not really like the light that is Christ. (Jn. 3:19) They loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For they claim that the darkness was light that the devils have sown on them. (Isa. 5:20) So it is a liberation to them that the devil has returned, after a thousand years of imprisonment.

Q10. What will be the end of the devil because of his sins?

A. Thrown into the lake of sulfur.

“And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” (Rev. 20:10) (NIV)

Note: The world's first evil politician (the beast) and the prophet, in infinite punishment. The devil came last. And they shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
